I know many of you shop on Black Friday and some of you shop online on Cyber Monday, but there is an even more important shopping day that we should consider. It is called Small Business Saturday. This year it will be on November 24th.
While you may find better bargains by shopping on Black Friday, by shopping Small Business Saturday, you have the chance to make a difference. You will be supporting local businesses owned by people in your Community. You will be helping your Community’s economy and helping small shops stay in business and pay their employees.
Small Business Saturday is not meant to discourage people from shopping at larger chains or online. It is just a way to encourage consumers to spend a percentage of their holiday shopping budget at local businesses . This can be done by buying gifts at family owned stores or by simply having dinner at a small locally owned restaurant.
