One food I miss since I moved away from my hometown is rolled oysters. They were created at a restaurant called Mazzonis in Louisville, Kentucky in the late 1800’s.
They were made by taking three raw oysters dipped in an egg, milk, cornmeal batter then rolled in cracker crumbs and deep fried. They were so good and tasted so different that regular fried oysters.
Unfortunately the restaurant went out of business in 2008, but its creation lives on in most of the seafood restaurants in the area. Unfortunately I moved too far away. They don’t have them here.
